| The Coalition to
Defend Equal Opportunity is a southeastern
Michigan-based coalition of faith, labor,
civil rights, student, business and professional
organizations formed to support the University
of Michigan's affirmative action policies.
The Coalition was formed earlier this year
to educate the public about affirmative action
and equality and to encourage people to show
their support in a Rally on April 1, 2003
in Washington, D. C. when the Supreme Court
hears oral arguments in the University of
Michigan affirmative action cases.
The Coalition to Defend Equal Opportunity held a rally on
March 1, 2003 in Detroit in front of Tiger
Stadium.
